- Sorry if this isn't on point for the group, but I'm trying to fix my
- PCMCIA modem. It's a Practical Peripherals ProClass 14.4 modem, with the
- "EZ-Port" or as Megahertz calls it, the "XJack." The little pop-out RJ-11
- phone connector is supposed to click back inside the card when not in use,
- but refuses to do so. I can push it in, but it doens't stick. The modem
- is still under warranty, but Practical Peripherals hasn't answered my
- emailed questions. It wouldn't be such a big problem, since the modem
- still function properly, but it's just a matter of time before the EZ-Port
- gets snapped off in transport -- of course I need to remove the card
- whenever I transport my notebook, but I know that sooner or later, it''ll
- happen. Besides, it's a pain to have to remove the card all the time.
-
- Anyway, does anyone have any ideas as to how this might be fixable, or
- whether it's fixable at all?
-
- Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
